CoreOS is back from the holidays and a successful Tectonic Summit! We’re kicking off the year with team members at conferences like ShmooCon, FOSDEM and Container World. Join us in making 2017 a great year for containers.

US meetups and events

ShmooCon @ The Washington Hilton Hotel:January 13-15, Washington, D.C.

Brian Redbeard, head of infrastructure at CoreOS, is heading to ShmooCon to discuss rkt’s security features and how they reflect our dedication to securing the internet. Join him on January 14 at 12:00 noon.

Security Meetup: Leak like Snowden: A beginner's guide to GPG, email sec, and crypto @ Work-Bench:January 24, New York City

Come to New York’s Security meetup to learn about secure email communication. Charlton Austin, software engineer at CoreOS, joins a panel of instructors who will give a short presentation on the basics of encryption and email security, then walk through a demonstration on GPG key use. Class begins at 6:00 p.m. on January 24.

RSA Conference @ Google Launchpad San Francisco:February 14, San Francisco, California

At the security-focused RSA conference, Brian Redbeard will join a panel of experts to discuss container security . Join him on February 14 at 11:00 a.m.

Open Source Leadership Summit @ The Resort at Squaw Creek:February 14-16, Lake Tahoe, California

Alex Polvi, CEO at CoreOS, and Brandon Philips, CTO at CoreOS, will share their expertise at the Open Source Leadership Summit . Stay tuned for details on their talks.

Container World @ The Santa Clara Convention Center:February 21-23, Santa Clara, California

At Container World , Alex Polvi will take part in a panel discussing the current status and future of the container ecosystem . Come see this Cloud Native Computing Foundation panel on February 22 at 9:20 a.m. Come by our booth to speak to the team, and stay tuned for details of another talk!

Kubernetes Training Session @ MicroTek:February 23-25, San Jose, California

We’re holding a Kubernetes training session in San Jose. Join us for a two-day course on setting up a modern distributed system using Container linux and Kubernetes.

FOSDEM @ ULB Campus Solbosch:February 4-5, Brussels, Belgium

CoreOS is going to FOSDEM , where we will continue to engage the open source community and discuss the latest in open source projects. See:

Brandon Philips’ keynote on Kubernetes’s role in GIFEE and a look at where the container orchestrator is headed. His keynote starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4. Fabian Reinartz, software engineer at CoreOS, discusses how alerting with time series filters important errors from the routine failures. He’ll speak in the Monitoring and Cloud devroom at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, February 5. Josh Wood, DocOps at CoreOS, will speak at the Linux Containers and Microservices devroom on Kubernetes Operators , which we introduced in November. His talk begins at 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 5. Jon Boulle, Berlin site lead at CoreOS, will introduce the Container Runtime Interface , a new internal API that allows Kubernetes to be extended to integrate with container runtimes. His talk begins at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, February 5 in the Linux Containers and Microservices devroom .
