Stay on target The Raspberry Pi Makes A Great DIY Surveillance System Here's How You Can Access Your Raspberry Pi Projects While On The Go
You can make just about anything with a Raspberry Pi; even you want to make the most super sweet pair of speakers. It’s doable! BoomBeastic’s Mini speaker is a Raspberry Pi-based smart speaker that looks just as awesome as all of its functions. Seriously. It’s super sharp.
Creator [curcuz] utilized the Adafruit I2S 3W Class D Amplifier Breakout for the MAX98357A, an 8×8 LED Matrix, and various other components to bring his project to life, which has a super sweet casing that’ll definitely get people talking if they happen upon it. Just check out the sweet LED at the top left and how bright it is!The speaker runs Mopidy as far as software goes, which is a special application that allows for controlling extensions like Spotify, Google Music, Soundcloud or other music programs you can use to play music without having to connect to an external device. It’s all wrapped together in a container with Docker as well, and you can take all of the instructions and components via GitHub and make your very own set of speakers if you so desire. It’s a little late to build one for the holidays, but hey ― if you’ve got those special people on your list who need a pretty personalized and individualized gift, this could be the item you’ve been searching for.
The project isn’t totally finalized, since there are several components its ingenious creator would like to add, but it’s definitely a super-creative start that anyone would love to have in their home. On the special “to do” list include the ability to sync audio, adding emoji, an equalizer display, and other goodies. You can tell [curcuz] what you think would make for an even better project as well. Check out the speaker in the video below!
